Valerie Cooksley, RN, OCN, FAAIM, is a holistic nurse, health researcher, educator and author of several books on aromatherapy and natural healing. She has studied natural medicine for the past twenty years, including Botanical Medicine at Bastyr University and The International Training Program in Essential Oils/Advanced Studies at Purdue University.

Ms. Cooksley is a graduate of the Pacific and Atlantic Institutes of Aromatherapy, The Institute of Aromatherapy Ramashanti, and Dr. Bruce Berkowsky’s Spiritual PhytoEssencing Diploma and Masters Course. Valerie is presently is under tutelage of Dr. Jean-Claude Lapraz, MD, Phyto-Aromatherapy Institute, Advanced Medical Training, Endobiogenic Concept.

Valerie has seven years clinical experience in oncology and infection control and was an Oncology Certified Nurse and instructor for the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society.

Laraine Kyle, RN, MSN, CS, CMT is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric Nursing, Certified Massage Therapist and Licensed Esthetician, and an experienced educator and speaker in the field of clinical aromatherapy. Laraine has traveled internationally to present at aromatherapy conferences and conducts specialty aromatherapy workshops for hospitals, hospices, nursing and aromatherapy organizations.

Laraine has been a nurse educator for over thirty-five years and holds an international certification from the London School of Aromatherapy.  Laraine has studied additionally with many international leaders in the field including Dr. Daniel Penoel, Shirley Price, and Robert Tisserand.

 Laraine is the co-founder of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA), 1990, and the co-founder of the Alliance for International Aromatherapists (AIA), 2005.  Laraine is the current Co-Chair of the AIA Education Committee which is reviewing educational standards for clinical aromatherapy for the U. S.
 

Ms. Kyle is an active member of the American Holistic Nurses Association and the National Association for Nurse Massage Therapy, and a contributor to the Aromatherapy chapter in the Nurses Handbook of Alternative and Complementary Therapies (Springfield Publications).

Her long term commitment to integrated body-mind-spirit healing has inspired her to continue developing ways in which aromatherapy can contribute to the bio-psycho-social and spiritual dimensions of health and well-being.

Articles by Laraine have appeared in aromatherapy publications such as the International Journal of Aromatherapy, the Aromatic Thymes and the Aromatherapy Journal (formerly Sensitivity, NAHA), and the Pacific Institute Conference Proceedings.
